Freeze Dried Green Bell Peppers

Easy to Prepare

  • Use alone as a snack or as an addition to veggie trail mixes.
  • Add dry for a crunchy effect in salads, or add during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking items with liquid such as pastas, rice dishes and casseroles.
  • Or simply hydrate by soaking for 5-10 minutes in a generous amount of cold or hot water (hot water works slightly better). Then drain.

Yield — 1 oz of these freeze dried green peppers equals about 2 cups dry with very low moisture content.

Rehydration Ratio — 1 lb of freeze dried green bell peppers, once rehydrated, equals approximately 15 lbs of fresh prepared diced green peppers.

- Lightweight and Portable: Freeze-dried green peppers are lightweight and compact, making them ideal for outdoor activities like camping, hiking, or backpacking. They take up less space and are easier to carry compared to fresh peppers.

- Versatility: You can use freeze-dried green peppers in various recipes, including soups, stews, salads, omelets, and stir-fries. They rehydrate quickly when added to water or other liquids, retaining their flavor and texture.

- Reduced Waste: Freeze-dried green peppers eliminate the risk of spoilage and waste that can occur with fresh peppers. They can be used in precise amounts, minimizing leftovers or unused portions.

- Allergen-Free and Vegan: Freeze-dried green peppers are free from common allergens such as gluten, dairy, and nuts. They are also suitable for vegan and vegetarian diets.

- Intense Flavor: Freeze-dried green peppers often have a more concentrated flavor compared to fresh peppers. This can add a burst of taste to your dishes, enhancing the overall culinary experience.

- Easy Storage: Freeze-dried green peppers can be stored at room temperature, requiring no refrigeration or freezing. This makes them convenient to keep in your pantry or carry during travel.

- Emergency Preparedness: Freeze-dried green peppers are a valuable addition to emergency food supplies. They provide a source of essential nutrients during times when fresh produce is unavailable or scarce.
