Freeze Dried Green Bell Peppers

Easy to Prepare

  • Use alone as a snack or as an addition to veggie trail mixes.
  • Add dry for a crunchy effect in salads, or add during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking items with liquid such as pastas, rice dishes and casseroles.
  • Or simply hydrate by soaking for 5-10 minutes in a generous amount of cold or hot water (hot water works slightly better). Then drain.

Yield — 1 oz of these freeze dried green peppers equals about 2 cups dry with very low moisture content.

Rehydration Ratio — 1 lb of freeze dried red bell peppers, once rehydrated, equals approximately 15 lbs of fresh prepared diced red peppers.

NOTE: We are transitioning from a 12mm dice to a 20mm dice. Some people find the larger dice easier to re-hydrate,

  • Long shelf life: Freeze-drying helps to preserve the nutrients and flavor of the red peppers while removing moisture, resulting in a shelf life of up to 25 years.
  • Convenience: Freeze-dried red peppers are lightweight and easy to store, making them a convenient option for camping, hiking, and emergency preparedness.
  • Retains nutrients: The freeze-drying process helps to preserve the nutritional content of the peppers, including vitamins A and C, potassium, and antioxidants.

  • Cost-effective: Freeze-dried red peppers are often more affordable than fresh peppers and can be purchased in bulk, making them a cost-effective option for cooking and snacking.
